Pathology: diseases associated with ingestion of shellfish: 1) Vibrio species a) V. vulnificus (raw oysters) b) V. parahaemolyticus (undercooked shellfish) 2) hepatitis A virus 3) Norwalk virus 4) migraine headaches may be precipitated by shellfish 5) food allergies may occur with ingestion of shellfish.
