- < 11.4 ng/mL [2]
Clinical significance:
- elevation of serum beta-tryptase is a specific marker of mast cell activation
- not elevated in hereditary angioedema
Increases:
- angioneurotic edema (within 4 hours)
- anaphylaxis
- mastocytosis
