serum deprivation-response protein (phosphatidylserine-binding protein, PS-p68, SDPR)

Function: 1) may play a role in targeting PRKCA to caveolae 2) binds to PRKCA in the presence of phosphatidylserine 3) up-regulated in asyncronously growing fibroblasts following serum deprivation but not following contact inhibition 4) down-regulated during synchronous cell cycle re-entry 5) phosphorylated on Ser 6) binds phosphatidylserine (Ca+2-dependent) 7) PS-binding is inhibited by phosphatidic acid & phosphatidyl- inositol 8) does not bind phosphatidylcholine Compartment: cytoplasm, colocalizes with CAV1 to caveolae Expression: - expresed in heart, lung > brain, kidney, liver, pancreas, placenta, skeletal muscle
