Notes: - screening of pregnant women not recommended [1]* - screening in general not recommended [2,5] - evidence insufficient to recommend for or against routine screening in men or non-pregnant women [4] - children aged 1-18 years to prevent rickets [6] - pregnant people to lower the risk for maternal & fetal or neonatal complications [6] - elderly >75 years to lower the risk for mortality [6] - adults with prediabetes to lower the risk for type 2 diabetes [6] * maternal vitamin D deficiency is associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes [3]
