salpingo-oophorectory

Surgical removal of fallopian tubes & ovaries, generally in association with total abdominal hysterectomy. Indications: - unilateral - ruptured ectopic pregnancy - adnexal torsion - tuboovarian abscess - bilateral - ovarian cancer - fallopian tube cancer - prophylactic bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy (BSO), with or without hysterectomy, after completion of childbearing is the standard of care for female carriers of BRCA1 mutation or BRCA2 mutation [1]
