ruptured hydatid cyst
Etiology:
- trauma
- surgery
- extreme physical activity
- spontaneous (uncommon)
Clinical manifestations:
- abdominal pain
- syncope
- hypotension
Complications:
- rupture with leakage into the peritoneum & subsequent anaphylaxis
Management:
- intravenous fluids
- treat anaphylaxis
- see echinococcosis
