RUN & FYVE domain-containing protein 1 (FYVE-finger protein EIP1, zinc finger FYVE domain-containing protein 12, La-binding protein 1, Rab4-interacting protein, RUFY1, RABIP4, ZFYVE12)

Function: 1) binds phospholipid vesicles containing phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate via FYVE-type zinc finger domain 2) early endosomal trafficking 3) interacts with BMX, SSB, & GTP-activated RAB4 & RAB5 4) phosphorylation on Tyr-389 &/or Tyr-400 is required for interaction with BMX & endosomal targeting Structure: - contains 1 FYVE-type zinc finger. - contains 1 RUN domain Compartment: cytoplasm, early endosomal membrane, peripheral membrane Alternative splicing: named isoforms=3 Expression: - broadly expressed - highest levels in lung, testis, kidney, brain
