retinoic acid syndrome
Etiology:
- systemic chemotherapy with all-trans retinoic acid
Clinical manifestations:
- pulmonary infiltrates
- hypoxemia
Laboratory:
- complete blood count (CBC)
- leukocytosis (may occur)
- arterial blood gas vs pulse oxymetry: hypoxemia
Management:
- dexamethasone
