Indications: - screening for diabetic retinopathy Procedure: - IDx-DR device analyzes images of the retina taken with the Topcon NW400 retinal camera - physician uploads the digital images of the patient's retinas to a cloud server with the IDx-DR software Interpretation: if images of sufficient quality, 1 of 2 results reported 1) more than mild diabetic retinopathy detected: refer to an eye care professional 2) negative for more than mild diabetic retinopathy; rescreen in 12 months * sensitivity 87%, specificity 90% [1]
