Tradename: Retevase.
Indications: acute myocardial infarction
Dosage:
- 10.8 units IV over 2 minutes
- repeat dose in 30 minutes
- for use with unfractionated heparin or LMW heparin
Adverse effects:
- intracerebral hemorrhage 0.8%
Mechanism of action:
- plasminogen activator
- minimal fibrin selectivity [2]
- retavase is a fragment of tissue plasminogen activator that contains kringle 2 & the protease domain
