response to radiation (GO:0009314)

Any process that results in a change in state or activity of a cell or an organism (in terms of movement, secretion enzyme production, gene expression, etc.) as a result of an electromagnetic radiation stimulus. Electromagnetic radiation is a propagating wave in space with electric and magnetic components. These components oscillate at right angles to each other and to the direction of propagation. Notes: - Note that 'radiation' refers to electromagnetic radiation of any wavelength.
