Function: 1) role in growth factor signaling through its influence on the Ral signaling pathway 2) interacts with DDEF1 & this complex can bind paxillin 3) may form a ternary complex with RALBP1 & DDEF1 4) interacts with RALBP1 & GRB2 5) binding to RALBP1 does not affect the Ral-binding activity of the latter 6) forms ternary complex with activated Ral & RALBP1 7) binds EPN1 8) EGF stimulates phosphorylation on Tyr & induces complex formation with EGF receptor via adapter protein, i.e. GRB2 Compartment: cytoplasm Alternative splicing: named isoforms=2 Expression: - expressed in cerebrum, cerebellum, lung, kidney, testis > kidney Pathology: - relatively highly expressed in androgen-dependent as compared with androgen-independent prostate cancer cell lines - isoform 2 is down-regulated during progression of prostate cancer
