macular 'drug red' syndrome
Etiology:
- vancomycin
- ciprofloxacin
Clinical manifestations:
- intensely red, generalized macular skin rash
- except for its alarming appearance, it generally causes the patient no significant discomfort
- hypotension [2]
- myalgia [2]
Management:
- stop offending agent
