Rastelli procedure

Indications: - congenital heart defect - dextro transposition of the great vessels - overriding aorta - double outlet right ventricle - ventricular septal defect - pulmonary atresia - pulmonary stenosis Procedure: - Gore-Tex patch directs oxygenated blood from left ventricle to aorta, closing the ventricular septal defect - an artificial conduit bypasses the pulmonary valve, allowing oxygen depleted blood to perfuse the lungs for reoxygenation
