Etiology:
- inflammatory bowel disease [1,2]
- most commonly ulcerative colitis [2] -less commonly Crohn's disease [2]
- in rare cases, no inflammatory bowel disease found [2]
- orofacial granulomatosis [1]
Epidemiology:
- rare variant of pyoderma gangrenosum Patholoogy:
- intraepithelial abscesses with large amount of eosinophils
Clinical manifestations:
- characterized by oral involvement with 'snail-track' erosions
- facial involvement is uncommon
- more indolent course than pyoderma gangrenosum
Laboratory:
- eosinophilia
