1) infarction in the distribution of the posterior cerebral artery
2) tumor
3) lobar hemorrhage
Pathology:
- lesion of the left occipitostriate cortex, adjacent association cortex & posterior corpus callosum (splenium)
Clinical manifestations:
1) normal spoken language & writing
2) inability to read
3) associated manifestations
- hemianopsia
