pseudouridine (psi uridine)

Struture: - modified nucleotide found in rRNA - formed via isomerization of uridine catalyzed by the H/ACA snoRNP complex such that ribose is subsequently attached to C5, instead of the normal N1. - each rRNA can contain up to 100 pseudouridine residues, which may serve to stabilize the conformation of rRNAs. Laboratory: - pseudouridine in CSF - pseudouridine in serum/plasma - pseudouridine/creatinine in urine

General

pyrimidine nucleoside ribonucleoside
