peptidylprolyl cis-trans isomerase A-like 4B (PPIase A-like 4B, chromosome 1-amplified sequence 2, COAS-2, cyclophilin homolog overexpressed in liver cancer, PPIAL4B COAS2)

Function: - PPIases accelerate the folding of proteins - catalyzes cis-trans isomerization of proline imidic peptide bonds in oligopeptides (putative) peptidylproline (omega=180) peptidylproline (omega=0) Structure: - belongs to the cyclophilin-type PPIase family, PPIase A subfamily - contains 1 PPIase cyclophilin-type domain Compartment: cytoplasm (putative) Expression: - highly expressed in brain, ovary & mammary gland - moderately expressed in lung, salivary gland, kidney, skin, adipose tissue, intestine & spleen - weakly expressed in skeletal muscle, liver & stomach Pathology: - expressed in pleomorphic & undifferentiated liposarcomas, osteosarcomas & breast carcinomas Genetics: - one of seven related genes or pseudogenes found in a cluster, thought to result from gene duplication, on chromosome 1 - expression studies do not distinguish between PPIAL4B & PPIAL4 [2]
