- treatment of hypertension
- weak blood pressure lowering effects in most patients
- adjunctive treatment of heart failure
Monitor:
- serum K+
Drug interactions:
- hyperkalemia potentiated by concomitant use of
a) ACE inhibitors
b) NSAIDs
Mechanism of action:
- site of action: distal tubule & collecting duct
