postictal

Following a seizure, e.g. epileptic. Clinical manifestations: a) 5-15 minutes duration b) confusion, headache, fatigue, amnesia, weakness c) prolongation of post-ictal state* may occur in elderly patients [2] * if postictal state does not improve within 15 minutes of seizure, obtain EEG to rule out nonconvulsive status epilepticus [3]
