- club drugs at raves & discos & as part of sexual encounters
Epidemiology:
- common among gay & bisexual men & transgender people worldwide
Adverse effects:
- isopropyl nitrite, a component of poppers appears to be toxic to the fovea and can cause maculopathy [2]
- disrupted central vision, blurriness, scotoma
- vision tends to improve after cessation of use
