A variegated hyperpigmentation & telangiectasias of the skin followed by atrophy. Etiology: 1) associated with facial erythema of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) 2) associated with heliotrope eruption, Grotton's papules & exfoliative dermatitis of dermatomyositis Microscopic Pathology: - mild basal damage - epidermal atrophy - pigment incontinence - vascular dilatation - papillary dermis Clinical manifestations: 1) hyperpigmentation 2) hypopigmentation 3) epidermal atrophy 4) telangiectasias
