podophyllotoxin; podofilox (Condylox)

Tradename: Condylox. 0.5% purified solution. Indications: - condylomata acuminata (anogenital warts) Dosage: 1) apply topically BID for 3 consecutive days 2) withold use for 4 days 3) repeat cycle up to 4 times until there is no visible wart Gel topical: 0.05% (3.5 g) 1) topical agent applied weekly at home. 2) apply to external warts twice daily for 3 days, then discontinue for 4 days. Continue for 6-8 weeks. Adverse effects: 1) local erythema 2) local irritation (burning, itching, inflammation 3) local erosion
