Pityrosporium folliculitis
Etiology:
- Malassezia (Pityrosporum)
Epidemiology:
- preferentially affect young women
Clinical manifestations:
1) monomorphous eruption
2) asymptomatic or slightly pruritic
3) follicular papules & pustules
4) upper back, chest, arms, neck
Management:
1) topical antifungal agents
2) sulfur-based antibiotic washes (Selsun blue)
3) oral antifungal agents
