phenylephrine/promethazine (Phenergan with phenylephrine)

Tradenames: Phenergan VC, Phenerzine VC. Indications: - temporary relief of upper respiratory tract symptoms associated with allergy - allergic conjunctivitis - temporary relief of cold symptoms - nasal congestion, rhinorrhea, sneezing [2] Contraindications: 1) asthma 2) peripheral vascular disease Dosage: 1) adults & children > 12 years of age: -> 5-10 mL every 4-6 hours PRN 2) children 6-12 years: 2.5-5 mL every 4-6 hours PRN 3) children 2-6 years: 1.25-2.5 mL every 4-6 hours PRN Liquid: promethazine HCl 6.25 mg & phenylephrine HCl 5 mg/5 mL (120 mL, 240 mL) Adverse effects: see promethazine & phenylephrine
