Vascular supply: middle cerebral artery
Pathology:
1) disease in the dominant parietal lobe
a) disorders of language (especially alexia)
- misperception of emtional content of speech [3]
b) Gerstmann's syndrome
c) bimanual astereognosis (tactile agnosia)
d) bilateral ideation or ideomotor apraxia
2) disease in the non-dominant parietal lobe
a) agitation
b) inattentiveness
c) delusional thinking
d) visual hallucinations (rare)
e) autonomic hyperactivity (common)
f) contralateral deficits may be mild or absent
- visual neglect
- hemiparesis
- agraphesthesia
- astereognosis
