Indications:
- treatment of dyskinesias in patients with Parkinson's disease refractory to medical therapy
Procedure:
- surgical ablation of the a part of the globus pallidus
- a heated probe (80 C for 60 seconds) ablates a small area of the globus pallidus
- Exablate Neuro uses MRI-guided focused ultrasound waves to target & ablate the globus pallidus (unilateral), requiring no incisions or brain implants [4]
