Pain Assessment in Advanced Dementia Scale (PAINAD)

Procedure: - observe patient for 5 minutes before scoring [2] - items for scoring - breathing - vocalization - facial expression - body language - cosolability Interpretation: - 10 points total [1] - 2 possible points each - score of 0 = no pain - score of 1-3 = mild pain - score of 4-6 = moderate pain - score of 7-10 = severe pain
