Etiology:
- postoperative complication of oophorectomy
- risk factors include
- pelvic adhesions
- anatomic variations
- intraoperative hemorrhage
- poor surgical technique.
Pathology:
- presence of residual ovarian tissue oophorectomy
Clinical manifestations:
- pelvic pain
- pelvic mass
- absence of menopause after oophorectomy
Management:
- surgery to remove the residual ovarian tissue
- hormonal contraception
