odevixibat (Bylvay)

Indications: - treatment of pruritus in progressive familial intrahepatic cholestasis Dosage: - 40 ug/kg qAM - after 3 months may increase in increments of 40 ug/kg/day up to 120 ug/kg/day if no improvement in pruritus - maximum 6mg/day Capsules: 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 1.2 mg Monitor: - baseline & during treatment - liver function tests (eg, ALT, AST, total bilirubin, & direct bilirubin - serum fat-soluble vitamins levels - INR Adverse effects: - diarrhea, including bloody diarrhea, hepatomegaly Mechanism of action: - selective inhibitor of the ileal bile acid transporter (IBAT)
