- role in transcriptional activation of certain genes via acetylation of nucleosomal histone H4 & H2A
- acetylation alters nucleosome - DNA interactions & positively regulates transcription
- ATPase & helicase activities contributed by association of RUVBL1 & RUVBL2 with EP400
- NuA4 complex interacts with MYC & the adenovirus E1A protein
- may be involved in:
a) oncogene & proto-oncogene mediated growth induction
b) tumor suppressor mediated growth arrest
c) replicative senescence
d) apoptosis
e) DNA repair
