Neuropsychiatric Inventory-Nursing Home scale

Procedure: - behavioral domains - delusions - hallucinations - agitation/aggression - depression - dysphoria - anxiety - elation/euphoria - apathy/indifference - disinhibition - irritability/lability - aberrant motor behavior - neurovegetative changes - sleep & nighttime behavior disorders - appetite & eating disorders - questions answered by caregiver - screening questions (generally yes/no) - subquestions - frequency (1-4) higher score -> greater frequency - severity (1-3) higher score -> greater severity - occupational disruptiveness: caregiver burden (0-5)* - for each behavioral domain there are 4 scores - frequency, severity, frequency x severity, caregiver burden - neurovegetative changes may be included if of importance * total disruptiveness score not a part of NPI-NH score; it is calculated separately; higher score -> greater caregiver burden
