carboxyl-terminal PDZ ligand of neuronal nitric oxide synthase protein; C-terminal PDZ ligand of neuronal nitric oxide synthase protein; nitric oxide synthase 1 adaptor protein (NOS1AP, CAPON, KIAA0464)

Function: - adapter protein involved in neuronal nitric-oxide synthesis regulation - complex formed with NOS1 & synapsins is necessary for specific NO & synapsin functions at a presynaptic level - mediates indirect interaction between NOS1 & RASD1, facilitating NOS1 activation of RASD1 - competes with DLG4 for interaction with NOS1 by regulating interaction between NOS1 & DLG4 (putative) - interacts with the PDZ domain of NOS1 via its C-terminal domain - interacts with RASD1 & SYN1, SYN2 & SYN3 via its PID domain - forms a ternary complex with NOS1 & RASD1 - forms a ternary complex with NOS1 & SYN1 Structure: contains 1 PID domain Alternative splicing: named isoforms=3 Polymorphism: - genetic variation in NOS1AP influences the electrocardiographic QT interval
