neurologic manifestations of cysticercosis (infestation by the pork tapeworm Taenia solium). See cysticercosis. Laboratory: - neurocysticercosis can not be diagnosed stool exmamination for eggs [8] Radiology: - CT of head may show multiple calcified &/or non calcified cystic lesions - brain MRI may show multiple enhancing cystic lesions (enhancing with gadolinium) - indicated even if CT of head shows calcified lesions in brain parenchyma [8] - repeat brain MRI every 6 months until resolution of cysts [8] * images [7]
