Indications: - unilateral spastic arm paralysis from chronic cerebral injury such as stroke or trauma [1] Procedure: - nerve transfer from contralateral nonparalyzed side [1] Notes: - procedure may improve upper-extremity function & reduce spasticity as early as first postoperative day - may facilitate such activites as: - dressing, tying shoes, operating a cell phone [1]
