Indications: 1) peripheral nerve disease due to trauma, surgery, or disease refractory to medical therapy 2) loss of normal neurologic function resulting in a) anesthesia b) paresthesia c) dysesthesia d) paralysis Procedure: - perineurial repair involves repairing the individual fascicles & placing sutures through the perineurium - group funicular repair involves repairing grouped fascicles with sutures placed through the intraneural epineurium, aligning groups of fascicles - epineurial repair involves aligning the nerve ends & placing sutures through the epineurium only (trigeminal nerve)
