Structure: - flattened, medial tarsal bone, concave on its posterior surface to accomodate the head of the talus & convex on its anterior surface to articulate with the 3 cuneiform bones. Articulations: 1) lateral cuneiform 2) medial cuneiform 3) intermediate cuneiform (triquetrum) 4) talus Notes: - in the older literature, navicular may refer to the scaphoid bone of the hand
