multiple chemical sensitivity syndrome (MCSS)
Patients develop symptoms on exposure to trace amounts of chemicals, generally in the workplace. Symptoms involve the nervous, immune, muscular, endocrine & genitourinary systems. Objective evidence of disease is lacking by physical examination or laboratory analysis. Patients are generally polysymptomatic, with manifestation of anxiety, depression, somatization, conversion & phobias.
