Pathology: - dementia is more likely & likely to be more severe when vascular lesions coexist with the neurofibrillary tangles & amyloid plaques of Alzheimer's disease Management: 1) cholinesterase inhibitors may be of modest clinical benefit 2) memantine may be of modest clinical benefit 3) cardiovascular risk control a) hypertension b) dyslipidemia
