mepenzolate (Cantil)
Indications:
- adjunctive therapy in the treatment of peptic ulcer
- irritable bowel syndrome [2]
Dosage:
- 25-50 mg QID preferably with meals & at bedtime
Tablets: 25 mg
Adverse effects:
- Gastrointestinal:
- vomiting, nausea, constipation, loss of taste, bloating, dry mouth
- Central Nervous System:
- confusion, dizziness, weakness, drowsiness, headache, nervousness
- Ophthalmologic:
- intraocular hypertension, cycloplegia, blurred vision, mydriasis
- Hypersensitivity: anaphylaxis, urticaria
- Cardiovascular: tachycardia, palpitations
- Genitourinary: urinary retention, urinary hesitancy
- Other:
- decreased sweating, drowsiness, insomnia, impotence, suppression of lactation
