Indications: -> prevention of osteoporosis a) for high-risk women b will NOT help menopausal symptoms Dosage: 1) apply patch once weekly -> patch provides 14 ug/day of estradiol 2) in combination with progestin for 14 days every 6-12 months Adverse effects: -> dose thought to be too low to cause endometrial hyperplasia Mechanism of action: -> low dose estrogen patch
