Pathology: 1) small cystic outpouching of the renal papillary collecting ducts 2) does NOT lead to a decrease in glomerular filtration rate 3) ectactic ducts of Bellini (papillary ducts) 4) nephrocalcinosis Genetics: 1) autosomal dominant form 2) sporadic form Clinical manifestations: 1) nephrolithiasis 2) renotubular abnormalities Laboratory: 1) microscopic or gross hematuria 2) hypercalciuria 3) nephrocalcinosis Radiology: 1) excretory urography: a) dilated collecting ducts b) unilateral, bilateral or involving a single papilla 2) calcifications of collecting ducts may be visualized on plain radiographs
