DNA replication licensing factor MCM7; CDC47 homolog; P1.1-MCM3 (MCM7 CDC47 MCM2)
Function:
- acts as a factor that allows DNA to undergo a single round of replication per cell cycle
- required for DNA replication & cell proliferation
- required for S-phase checkpoint activation upon UV-induced damage
- phosphorylated upon DNA damage, probably by ATM or ATR
- interacts with the ATR-ATRIP complex & with RAD17
- interacts with TIPIN
- forms a stable trimeric complex with CDC21 & p105MCM; protein BM28/Mcm2 is more loosely associated with the trimeric complex
Structure:
- belongs to the MCM family
- contains 1 MCM domain
Compartment: nucleus (putative)
Alternative splicing: named isoforms=2
