Etiology:
- adenocarcinoma
- lung adenocarcinoma
- breast cancer
- gastrointestinal cancer
- melanoma
- lymphoma
- leukemia [1]
Pathology:
- the name would imply carcinomatosis spreading through the lymphatics
- lymphangitic spread of metastatic cancer
- pulmonary metastases
- hilar lymphadenopathy & mediastinal lymphadenopathy [1]
Radiology:
- high resolution chest CT if pulmomary metastases suspected
- hilar lymphadenopathy, mediastinal lymphadenopathy & interstitial lung changes in a patient treated for breast cancer [1]
- ground glass opacification not seen [1]
