Indications: - lymphadenopathy, fevers, night sweats, weight loss - mastocytoma - mast cell sarcoma - histiocytic neoplasm - malignant histiocytosis - diagnosis of lymphoma - diagnosis of metastatic cancer - staging of cancer - staging of breast cancer - staging of lymphoma Procedure: - excisional lymph node biopsy - resection of entire lymph node is needed with architecture preserved - fine-needle aspiration not sufficient for diagnosis of lymphoma* , * needle aspiration sufficient for diagnosis of lung cancer according to ref [2] * surgical biopsy preferable to core biopsy [2]
