Etiology: - occurs when the patient falls & is immobilized for several hours Epidemiology: - common among elderly living alone in the community Pathology: 1) muscle damage leads to rhabdomyolysis 2) rhabdomyolysis leads to renal failure Clinical manifestations: 1) dehydration 2) delirium 3) pressure ulcers 4) hypothermia 5) rhaddomyolysis 6) renal failure
