Hyaline thickening of arterioles, with atheroma. Etiology: 1) hypertension 2) atherosclerosis Pathology: 1) hyaline gradually extends over entire circumference of arteriole, replacing all structures but endothelium 2) atheroma formation Complications: -> lacunar infarcts
