Lewis bipolar exploring lead

Lewis bipolar exploring leads are used to record atrial activation during an arrhythmia. The leads may be placed anywhere on the precordium to maximize the electrical signal corresponding to atrial activation. The largest atrial deflections are recorded with the negative lead positioned high & to the right of the sternum & the positive lead positioned low & to the left of the sternum.
