levalbuterol (Xopenex)
Tradename: Xopenex. L-enantiomer of albuterol
Indications:
- prevention & treatment of bronchospasm in adults & adolescents > 12 years of age
- acute asthma attack
- bronchial asthma
Xopenex HFA: metered dose inhaler
Mechanism of action:
- selective beta-2 adrenergic agonist
- does not work any better than albuterol [3,4]
