Leriche's syndrome

Aortoiliac vascular insufficiency resulting from chronic occlusive disease below the renal arteries. Clinical manifestations: - bilateral hip, thigh, & buttock claudication - symmetric muscle atrophy of bilateral lower extremities - due to chronic ischemia (peripheral arterial disease) - impotence &/or erectile dysfunction may occur in males Radiology: - angiography shows atherosclerosis in the abdominal aorta & iliac artery Differential diagnosis: - abdominal aortic aneurysm
